Alabama Construction Jobs

Alabama has the second largest inland waterway system in the United States. About three-fifths of the land area is plain with a general downward slope towards the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico. The Northern part of Alabama has mostly mountains, with the Tennessee River cutting a large valley creating many streams and rivers, mountains, and lakes. There is much to do and exciting places to visit for a quick family vacation or weekend getaway from relaxing coastal escapes and fun water parks to historic inns and B&Bs. Whether you like nature or would rather head to Birmingham, Montgomery, Huntsville, Gadsden, Florence or Mobile for shopping, art, entertainment, and restaurants, there are many wonderful options to choose from.

Birmingham – Alabama’s largest city is a beautiful historic destination offering a variety of interesting places to visit from great restaurants, museums and historical landmarks to sports or theater. Visit the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, explore the Birmingham Museum of Art, and take a self-guided tour of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.  Kids will enjoy the McWane Science Center, Vulcan Park and Museum, Sloss Furnaces, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and the Birmingham Zoo.

Montgomery – By walking through the Montgomery historic district with its beautiful antebellum mansions you can almost see the passage of history, the First White House of the Confederacy, the 1851 Alabama State Capitol, and the Dexter Parsonage Museum where Dr. Martin Luther King and his family lived. Montgomery has an exciting art scene with the popular Alabama Shakespeare Festival, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and Performing Arts Center. Beautiful parks, nature centers, a zoo, and many family attractions all make Montgomery a wonderful place to visit. There are many historical sights such as the Rosa Parks Library and Museum, the Civil Rights Memorial and the First White House of the Confederacy.

Other exciting things to do and places to visit are U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, a 90 ft waterfall and 250-acre park and campground at Noccalula Falls Park & Campground in Gadsen. The Alabama Wildlife Center, the state’s largest and oldest wildlife rehabilitation facility in Pelham. If sandy beaches are what you’re after, then visit Dauphin Island and along the Gulf Coast. Gulf Coast beaches are considered to be some of the most beautiful in the United States and are known for white, sugar-sand and calm emerald green waters.
